1. Data Controller

Vaganova Ballet Courses, operated by Murat Ushanov (hereinafter "the Controller"), based in Mexico City, Mexico, is responsible for the processing of the personal data you provide, in accordance with the Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP) published on March 20, 2025.

2. Personal Data We Collect

We may collect the following personal data:

  • Full name, email address, and phone/WhatsApp number
  • Date of birth and age
  • Ballet experience level and participant type (student, teacher, parent, director)
  • Audition videos submitted for evaluation
  • Payment information processed through Stripe and bank transfer details
  • Messages sent via WhatsApp Business
  • Browsing data (IP address, browser type, pages visited)

Sensitive data:

We may collect information about physical or health conditions relevant to classical ballet practice. This data is considered sensitive under the LFPDPPP and requires your express consent.

Biometric data:

Audition videos may contain biometric data (identifiable facial features and movement patterns). This data is considered sensitive under the LFPDPPP and requires your express consent. It is used solely for the artistic evaluation of the participant and is not shared with third parties for commercial purposes.

3. Purposes of Processing

Necessary purposes (without which we cannot provide the service):

  • Process registrations for the Vaganova Summer Intensive and other courses
  • Evaluate auditions and assign groups by level and age
  • Process payments and issue receipts
  • Communicate with you about your registration, schedules, and course logistics

Additional purposes (require your consent):

  • Send information about future programs and courses via email or WhatsApp
  • Publish photographs and videos on social media and website for promotional purposes
  • Conduct satisfaction surveys

If you do not wish your data to be used for additional purposes, you may communicate this to vaganovaballetcourses@gmail.com at any time.

4. Minors' Data

Since the Vaganova Summer Intensive is aimed at participants aged 10 to 22, some of our users are under 18. In these cases:

  • Consent for personal data processing must be given by the parent or legal guardian
  • At the in-person audition, a Consent and Release Letter is signed by the parent/guardian
  • For online registration, the parent/guardian must complete the form and indicate their name and relationship
  • We apply enhanced security measures to protect minors' data, in accordance with the principle of the best interest of the child

5. Data Transfers to Third Parties

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers for the purposes described:

  • Stripe, Inc.secure card payment processing (PCI-DSS certified)
  • Meta Platforms (WhatsApp Business API)WhatsApp communication
  • Google (Gmail / SMTP)email delivery
  • Sentrytechnical error monitoring of the website (no personal data is sent)

We do not store credit card numbers or sensitive financial data on our servers.

Data storage location:

Your personal data is stored on servers located in the United States of America (provider: Akamai / Linode, data center in Dallas, Texas), with SSL/TLS encryption in transit and credential-based access protection. By accepting this Notice, you consent to the transfer of your data outside Mexican territory exclusively for technical hosting purposes. We guarantee that data receives the same level of protection established by the LFPDPPP.

6. ARCO Rights

Under the LFPDPPP, you have the right to:

  • Accessknow what personal data we hold about you
  • Rectificationrequest the correction of incorrect or incomplete data
  • Cancellationrequest the deletion of your data when you consider it is not being processed in accordance with the law
  • Oppositionoppose the processing of your data for specific purposes

To exercise any of these rights or revoke your consent, send an email to vaganovaballetcourses@gmail.com indicating: full name, contact information, a clear description of your request, and any document that verifies your identity. We will respond within a maximum of 20 business days.

7. WhatsApp Communications

We use the WhatsApp Business API to communicate with our clients. By providing us with your WhatsApp number, you authorize Vaganova Ballet Courses to contact you via WhatsApp about the Vaganova Summer Intensive and other educational programs. Messages you send us via WhatsApp may be stored to provide better service. You may withdraw this authorization at any time by replying "STOP" or writing to vaganovaballetcourses@gmail.com.

8. Cookies and Browsing Data

Our website uses cookies for authentication purposes and to improve user experience. You can configure your browser to reject cookies, although some site features may not be available. Browsing data collected is considered personal data under the LFPDPPP.

9. Security Measures

We implement technical, administrative and physical security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction:

  • SSL/TLS encryption on all website communications
  • Payment processing through Stripe (PCI-DSS certified)
  • Daily encrypted database backups with three physical copies in separate locations
  • Access control via authentication and audit logs
  • HMAC integrity verification on external webhooks (Stripe, WhatsApp)
  • We do not store credit card numbers or sensitive financial data on our servers

10. Data Retention Period

Your personal data is retained for the time necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Notice and for an additional three (3) years after the course ends or your last interaction, for tax and legal purposes applicable under the Federal Fiscal Code. After this period, your data will be anonymized or securely deleted, except where a legal obligation requires longer retention.

You may request earlier deletion of your data at any time by exercising your ARCO Rights (Section 6), except where a legal retention obligation exists.

11. Changes to the Privacy Notice

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Notice at any time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable legislation. Changes will be published on this page with the corresponding update date. We recommend reviewing this notice periodically.
