Beginning of the class
Révérence, body placement, turns and tilts of the head, shoulder exercises, arm positions.

Floor exercises
Foot work, exercises lying on the back and on the stomach, turnout and extension, flexibility and back strength.

Foot positions, body placement, general classical ballet barre exercises.

Port de bras, marching, coordination exercises and dance steps on the diagonal.

Allegro
Different jumping exercises that develop correct coordination and jumping technique.

Tatiana Cherkashina
Teacher at the Vaganova Ballet Academy. She teaches Classical Dance Methodology to the Vaganova Ballet Academy's future teachers.
- Graduated from the Vaganova Ballet Academy (1989); principal soloist of Nikita Dolgushin's company.
- At the Vaganova Ballet Academy since 2007; since 2019 she trains future teachers in Classical Dance Methodology.
- Master classes in Israel, Norway, Japan, Spain and Bulgaria.

Murat Ushanov
Graduate of the Vaganova Ballet Academy as a dancer (2016) and as a teacher (2022), former dancer of the Mariinsky Theatre. Director of the Vaganova Summer Intensive México, which in 2026 brought 3 Vaganova Ballet Academy teachers to Mexico City.

What age of students is the Curso Propedéutico for?
In this course you learn the methodology for teaching students aged 6 to 10: the stage where the foundation is built before the first year of ballet.
Do I need to speak Russian?
No. The teacher gives the class in Russian and Murat Ushanov interprets live into Spanish.
Is it useful if my school follows another programme?
Yes. You will see how the Vaganova Ballet Academy builds the foundation and can apply its principles in your own work with young children.
What if I can't join at 9:00?
You can watch the recording of the classes for 7 days after the course ends. The recording is for participants only and cannot be downloaded.
Can I record the classes?
No. Recording the classes or sharing the access links is not allowed.
Is the certificate an official Vaganova Ballet Academy diploma?
The official Vaganova Ballet Academy teacher's diploma is earned after 4 years of full-time, in-person study at the Vaganova Ballet Academy, with classes every day. In this course, once you pass the final online exam, you receive a personal certificate of participation issued by the Vaganova Ballet Academy and signed by its Director, Nikolay Tsiskaridze, for 12 hours of methodological training with a Vaganova Ballet Academy teacher.
What is the final exam like?
At the end of the course you take an online test on the topics of the classes, from your computer or phone. Once you pass it, you receive your certificate.
Is the payment secure? Can I pay with an international card?
